Lectio Divina
Lectio Divina
Resurrectio promotes the studying of the Old and New Testament in the parishes of rural France through Lectio Divina (Latin for Divine Reading), a slow, contemplative reading of the Scriptures which enables the Bible to become a means of union with God.
This practice was born in the monastic tradition. According to Saint Benedict, the art of Lectio Divina begins with cultivating the ability to listen deeply, to hear with the ear of our hearts. The Word of God, thus, becomes incarnate and living. Through the Holy Spirit, Christ opens our minds so that we may understand the Scriptures.
